Chemotherapy
Marcelle Ruth Cancer Centre and Specialist Hospital
Plot 1192D Olubosi Close, Off Bishop Oluwole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Chemotherapy treats cancer with medication, either taken as tablets or delivered intravenously (into a vein). Treatment is prescribed by a consultant oncologist and delivered under supervision by a team of highly skilled doctors, nurses and pharmacists.
Chemotherapy drugs kill cancer cells and stop them spreading, usually over a course of treatment lasting from three to six months. Doses are often administered in cycles every three to four weeks, which allows the body to recover in between.
Marcelle Ruth’s in-house pharmacy makes chemotherapy on-site in a safe and sterile room.
Intravenous chemotherapy can take several hours to be administered, so we provide a calm and comfortable environment in a dedicated area of eight chemotherapy “pods”. The space is designed so that patients can interact with one another or choose to have their own privacy if desired. Private rooms are also available if needed.
