Occupation therapy is a part of rehabilitation medicine in paediatric that analyse why a child maybe struggling to carry out specific tasks to then devise a treatment plan to address the specific issues which can either be due to a physical or mental challenges. Paediatric OT focus on the child developmental milestone, play skills, education/vocational rehabilitation, activity of daily living (self-help skills). The goal is to reintegrate the child to level of maximum functional independent back into the society.
Occupational Therapist handles patients not limited to :
i. Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
ii. Sensory processing disorder
iii. Childhood mental health
iv. Behaviour problems
v. Learning problems
